Recruitment context : A French company specializing in forestry and sawmilling is facing a labor shortage for the profession of lumberjack, a profession officially recognized as being in high demand. To compensate for this shortage, the company decides to recruit a foreign national (whom we will call Mr. X) on a permanent contract (CDI) and begins the process of bringing in a foreign employee.
However, a thorough analysis of the candidate’s file reveals multiple falsifications and major contradictions. Here is a review of the inconsistencies that justify a categorical refusal of a visa by the consular authorities.
1. Fictitious and contradictory professional experience
The first reason for rejecting a work visa application is the falsification of professional experience, which is supposed to prove the candidate’s qualifications for the in-demand position.
Overlapping dates and lies about seniority : The lawyer in charge of the case claims that the applicant has been working as a lumberjack for the same company since 2020. However, the applicant’s resume and official work certificate indicate a recent hire, dated January 15, 2025. Worse still, the pay slips issued in the first months of 2025 already show “Seniority: 1 year.”
Presence of simultaneous and illogical pay slips : The file contains two sets of pay slips from two different employers for the same full-time period. In one of the sets, gross falsification errors (use of inappropriate templates) show a position of “Building Electrician” in the calculations, while the header indicates “Lumberjack.” The candidate’s date of birth is also incorrect.
French contributions on a foreign pay slip : The pay slips provided by the official employer in the candidate’s country of origin include lines for exclusively French contributions (ASSEDIC, capped old-age insurance, housing assistance), which is legally and administratively impossible for a local company.
2. The blatant incompatibility of health insurance status
To support his application, the candidate provided his social security registration card from his country of origin.
The solidarity scheme : The document proves that the candidate has been registered with the “AMO TADAMONE” scheme since December 31, 2024. This scheme is a free medical coverage strictly reserved for people in precarious situations who are unable to pay contributions (unemployed people, people without stable income).
Inconsistency : This status of extreme vulnerability, granted by the State only a few weeks before the application was submitted, is formally incompatible with the lawyer’s statements and pay slips confirming that the applicant has been in stable, paid employment for several years.
3. A false promise of accommodation
The conditions of reception in France are subject to careful scrutiny by prefectures and consulates. In this case, the housing solution collapses under the weight of contradictions:
The origin of the accommodation: The initial application claims that the French company provides accommodation for the employee. In fact, the supporting document provided is a simple accommodation certificate written by a private individual (Mr. Y). Analysis of this individual’s documents shows that he was born in the same village as the applicant, suggesting a friendly or family arrangement rather than company accommodation.
An untraceable and contradictory address: The host’s address varies from one document to another.
- The handwritten accommodation certificate mentions an address A (Route de Manthes).
- The host’s electricity bill (EDF) shows billing address A, but consumption location B (Quartier des Granges).
- Finally, the host’s official residence permit shows a completely different address C, specifying that he himself is hosted by a third party.
Conclusion
This case illustrates the importance of rigorously checking supporting documents. The presence of clearly falsified documents (inappropriate pay slip templates showing foreign taxes), coupled with lies about the applicant’s professional background and accommodation conditions, completely destroys the credibility of the application.
For the consular authorities, such a series of inconsistencies proves that this is a case of misdirected immigration, resulting not only in the immediate refusal of the visa, but also exposing the applicant (and potentially the company if it is deemed complicit or negligent) to penalties for document fraud.
